Elephant Walk Pub

After the exciting victory of Montreal over Washington, we decided that some celebratory pub food was in order.  We drove over to 41st and Fraser (though, honestly we should have taken the bus).  The place is big and it was pretty full with lots of other post-game revelers, both young and old, mostly enjoying themselves in groups of 4 or more.

We were seated at a booth by a very bright south-facing window.  Please excuse my washed-out pictures!

Bacon Cheeseburger ($9)

I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger, which was topped with real cheddar and crispy curls of bacon.  The burger itself was good, though the lettuce was a bit wilted. The fries were good, but given that the side order of gravy I added was the same size as a cup of soup – it was way too big, and wasteful 😦

Clubhouse sandwich ($10)

Chris ordered the Elephant Walk Sized Clubhouse sandwich, which I had ordered myself on our previous visit a few months before.  It’s a nice sandwich piled high with lettuce, tomato, bacon, turkey, and cranberry mayo.  The whole thing works particularly well because they clearly build the sandwich with care – no sloppy, sliding-out sides.

Music Bingo!

As it was Wednesday, the Elephant Walk Pub hosts Music Bingo.  It was fun to listen to the song snippets and try to figure out which card we got to dab.  The prizes kept coming for the first 4 or so folks who got two complete lines on their cards.  We came close, but in the end went home empty-handed 🙂

I think Elephant Walk Pub is a great neighbourhood restaurant, especially to watch sports (on their many TV’s), with ample menu options – all executed very well.
